Overnight stays

It is possible to stay overnight at the Villa Tammekann and thus better experience the unique environment of this building by Alvar Aalto. Overnight accommodation is primarily intended for university staff on work visits. If possible, we also welcome friends of the university and special groups interested in the architecture. Accommodation fees are used exclusively for the maintenance of the house.

The house has two twin rooms and three single rooms. Accommodation includes breakfast and use of the sauna. Ask about opportunities for overnight stays!

Tours

Visits to the Villa Tammekann can be conducted in a shorter time too. They can include a welcome to Tartu either inside the house or outside, in the garden. Many guides from Tartu city are well acquainted with the site and can provide tours. A good way of seeing the house has proved to be the short visit, where tour guides first familiarize themselves with the information on the website or other material and give background details on the bus. In this situation, the visit to the site itself will take about half an hour. The Residency Host is present to tell about the house and show the premises. The entrance fee in the case of groups is 10 euros per person.

Meetings, Gatherings, Sauna

The Villa Tammekann offers memorable surroundings for meetings and gatherings. The sauna section is spacious and comfortable. The house has proved well suited for holding corporate and other board meetings as well as various conferences and gatherings. The house sleeps up to seven people and there are possibilities for additional accommodation nearby. The caretaker of the Granö Centre can assist in getting food and refreshments as well as with the other arrangements for meetings. The entire building is covered by a fast WLAN and the conference room is well equipped for meetings, including a TV display for presentations.
